Phoenix Logistics and E3 Property have unveiled plans for Iylo, a bold statement in glass and steel housing 183 private apartments in Croydon.

The 20-storey tower will have the appearance of two elliptical halves that appear to be sliding past each other. Designed by Darling Associates , the apartments will feature Poggenpohl kitchens with Siemens or Meile appliances, quartz worktops, and walnut veneered doors with brushed steel ironmongery. All apartments will be hard wired for mood lighting, ceiling speakers and bathroom TVs. Bathrooms will feature Italian polished porcelain tiles on floors and walls. Every apartment will have a private terrace, a balcony or a winter garden. The project is scheduled for completion in 2010.

Croydon is currently undergoing a £3.5 bn regeneration scheme intended to place it as London’s 3rd city. At the heart of the scheme is the five hectare mixed-use Croydon Gateway site, anchored by a 12,500 seat arena; while Park Place will create a 1,000,000 sq ft destination including shops, cafes and restaurants.
